Officers from the Brisbane Forensic Crash Unit are appealing for witnesses following an early morning crash at Kallangur which resulted in a young boy hospitalised with critical injuries.
Preliminary information indicates that at around 6.25am two vehicles collided head-on on Old Gympie Road.
A 5-year-old boy, the passenger in one of the vehicles sustained head, chest and abdominal injuries and was transported to the Queensland Children’s Hospital.
A 34-year-old Kallangur woman, the driver of this vehicle, sustained minor injuries.
The driver and sole occupant of the other vehicle, a 73-year-old man from Dakabin sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
