Big miners including Fortescue Metals and BHP committing to big carbon reductions




Fortescue Metals Group, the iron ore miner which emits two million tonnes of carbon per year, has announced it will go carbon neutral in nine years’ time, well before the world’s biggest carbon emitting economies are planning.

Chairman and founder Andrew “Twiggy” Forrest, who says he has never owned coal investments, says he has the capital to risk such a herculean task.
